The British Federation of Film Societies

http://www.bffs.org.uk/

The BFFS is a national body which promotes voluntary film exhibition and represents the interests of film societies and other non-theatrical exhibitors in the United Kingdom. It receives some financial support from the UK Film Council (UKFC) and works with other bodies such as local Arts Boards and the lottery commission to support film societies.

What BFFS does for film societies is:

• Advice

• Accreditation

• Representation

• Local Support

• Training Events

• Equipment Loans

• Annual Awards

• Publicity Materials

• Networking events

Each area of the United Kingdom has a BFFS Regional Group to provide local support, organise meetings and provide other services, and there is a Management Committee which provides representation and support at a national level, with an administration office based in Sheffield.

The Federation is proud to say it has been providing continuous support to film societies of all types across the UK since it’s foundation in 1946.
