IFF! - Inverness and Area Film Fans Inverness and Area Film Fans is a film club for enthusiasts throughout Inverness and the surrounding area who appreciate a diverse range of films. Their substantial website includes details of all of their events, programme notes and a load of other goodies. The full programme can be downloaded and IFF state that "For all our films we provide notes and an opportunity for discussion afterwards, with refreshments available at a modest price." IFF! was formed by a group of enthusiasts in the summer of 2003, since September 2004 has run our own programmes of films from DVD or VHS cassette format, using equipment purchased with grant funding, and now has fortnightly showings at Eden Court's 'Screen Machine' cinema.
The Montrose Picture House is a not for profit organisation, run by a team of volunteers showing films at the former St Andrew’s Church, George Street, Montrose. The church is now known as The Mitchell Centre. The venue has a unique auditorium and tiered church pews and has been dubbed ‘Scotland’s Cinema Paradiso’ by the Scottish press.
Napier University Film Society (NUFS) The Napier University Film Society is for students with an interest in less well known, quality films -- more so of the independent variety. It's not oÂnly for indie regulars, but anybody who would like to widen their cinema experience beyond the Edinburgh multiplexes. So if you're fed up with going to the Filmhouse or Cameo cinemas oÂn your own or you found yourself more taken by Amelié than Charlie's Angels, come and join the Napier University Film Society! We're oÂne of the best and largest non-sports societies at the university, and all members are entitled to NUFS-specific discounts at selected cinemas, attend weekly Film Nights and Society Parties and generally have a good time with with like-minded, unpretentious cinema fanatics!
